Maryland Professional Emergency Management Program Certification
In today’s competitive world, any edge you have over other candidates seeking the same position can make the difference between success and frustration. For those employed, ensuring that your skills are sharp and your knowledge base is deep is a key to continued success. Whether you are seeking employment, or currently employed, the Maryland Professional Emergency Management Program (MDPEMP) designation may be a major career-enhancing credential. The Maryland Emergency Management Association offers a certification for individual emergency managers. The MDPEMP designation is a Maryland recognized professional certification for emergency managers who have worked to enhance emergency preparedness, prevention, response, recovery, and mitigation in and for the State of Maryland or one of its local jurisdictions. Individuals who are currently credentialed as a Certified Emergency Manager through the International Association of Emergency Managers (IAEM) may submit a reciprocity form in lieu of a full application. This form must be accompanied by the individuals CEM approval letter, a current job description and a short biography that describes their 2 years of emergency management work in the State of Maryland. Applications must be complete and submitted with all required documentation no later than April 30th and October 30th of each year. Application reviews will be conducted bi-annually prior to the Maryland Emergency Management Associations summer and winter meetings, where certificates will be presented. Please email or fax applications and supporting documentation to: Mr. Stephen I. Garvin, MDPEMP Dorchester County Emergency Management Agency 829 Fieldcrest Road Cambridge, Maryland 21613 (Voice) 410-228-1818 (Cell) 443-477-3189 (Fax) 410-228-1216 Or Reed Correll, Chair, CEM, CHEP, MDPEMP Planner, Maryland Emergency Management Agency 5401 Rue Saint Lo Drive Reisterstown, Maryland 21136 email@example.com Office: 410-517-3612 Cell: 443-243-8707Read More
